Aidem Digital CIC is a user-led cultural sector organisation with deep links to the South Asian communities. We are committed to addressing access barriers and underrepresentation within the literary arts, media and journalism sectors, and to creating online and offline platforms to support the artistic and career development of creatives and artists from within these communities.

Created in 2008 and formalised in 2010, Aidem Digital is a social enterprise, as a Community Interest Company (CIC) we specialise in developing and deploying digital media projects that have a social impact.

Our mission statement is:

To provide quality led digital media services with social impact and create jobs and opportunities for the disadvantaged. Provide support for minority communities to experience, understand and create meaningful and ambitious art & journalism.

Our vision is:

Equality of access to the arts, and equality of opportunity of careers in the arts & journalism for young people and minorities.

We achieve our mission and vision via our flagship projects ‘DESIblitz.com’ and ‘DESIblitz Arts’.

DESIblitz.com is an award-winning online British Asian lifestyle and news magazine which provides training and vocational opportunities to aspiring minority writers, journalists, photographers and filmmakers.  The website reaches 450,000+ users every month, primarily from British Asian communities and ¾ of which aged between 16 and 34 years.

DESIblitz Arts is the only West Midlands based organisation focused upon enhancing British Asian access to the literary arts and addressing minority underrepresentation in the UK publishing industry. This is achieved via our DESIblitz Arts Literature Festivals, community-based literary events and workshops, and utilising DESIblitz.com’s reach to provide an online space for aspiring writers to share and promote their work.

From our perspective the answer is simple: ‘digital media’ is any form of media or presence produced with the aid of digital technology.
